Under-Slab Sewer Line Replacement and Concrete Repair

We completed an interior sewer line replacement involving trench excavation through a concrete slab, installation of new 4-inch ABS sewer piping, compacted backfill, and concrete restoration. The project included work extending from a bathroom into an adjoining living area.

Real work completed by In Demand Plumbing, Heating & Air for a local Lafayette property.

The problem

What we found.

The home's existing underground sewer line required replacement beneath the concrete slab. Accessing the damaged piping involved opening the floor through the bathroom and adjoining living area to expose the sewer line and correct the plumbing issue.

The solution

What our team did.

Our plumbing technicians excavated an interior trench approximately 15 feet long and up to 5 feet deep to access the existing sewer piping. The crew installed new 4-inch ABS sewer piping and fittings, including branch connections, and prepared the pipe bedding with base rock to establish proper support and grade. After installation, the trench was backfilled and compacted. The concrete slab was then restored to the surrounding floor level, leaving the area ready for the next stage of flooring restoration.
