The problem

What we found.

A Brentwood homeowner needed the kitchen water supply lines rerouted beneath the kitchen island. The existing plumbing configuration required access through the concrete slab and behind the kitchen cabinetry to create a new route for the water lines. The work involved opening sections of drywall and concrete while protecting the surrounding kitchen and living areas.

The solution

What our team did.

In Demand Plumbing, Heating & Air completed a kitchen water line reroute at a residential property in Brentwood, California. Our technicians assessed the work area and prepared the home with protective floor coverings and plastic dust barriers. The team opened two sections of drywall, one behind the kitchen island sink and another behind the refrigerator, to access the plumbing. Two sections of the concrete slab were cut to provide a route for the replacement water lines. Our plumbers installed two new ½-inch water lines through the kitchen island cabinet using protective conduit sleeves approximately 2 inches in diameter. After routing the new lines, the team reconnected the water supply and checked the connections for leaks. The invoice documents that no leaks were found. The concrete openings were backfilled and rough-patched. The concrete was intentionally left below the finished floor level so the flooring could be restored later. The kitchen faucet was tightened as much as possible during the visit. Drywall and flooring finish repairs were not included in the documented scope of work.
